How do I set it up?

Plug it straight into a wall outlet, set your temperature on the top panel or the remote, and that is it — there is nothing to install. Most people are warm within five minutes of opening the box.

No — always plug directly into a wall outlet. A heater drawing 12.5 amps for hours can overheat an extension cord or power bar. This is the single most important safety rule for any plug-in heater, whatever the brand.

On a clear section of wall with open space in front — keep the front grille at least a metre from bedding, curtains, furniture and papers, and never cover it or drape anything over it. The plug-in design means no floor space is taken up.

You feel warm air in seconds. A typical insulated bedroom or office of up to about 12 m² reaches a comfortable temperature in roughly 3–5 minutes; larger or colder rooms take a little longer on the first run.

Roughly $7–$17 a month in most provinces to heat one room for four hours a day. The heater draws 1,500 W while heating, but the thermostat cycles it off once the room reaches temperature, so real-world draw averages about 0.75 kWh per hour. How does the thermostat work?

Set a target temperature and the heater cycles itself on and off to hold it, instead of running flat out. That is where the real savings come from — you are only paying for the heat the room actually loses.

How many units do I need?

One per room you want to heat. One unit is sized for a single insulated room of up to about 12 m² (130 sq ft). Most households land on two — one for the bedroom overnight and one for the office by day — which is why the two-unit bundle is the most popular.

Will it heat my whole house or an open-plan floor?

No — and no single 120 V plug-in heater can, whatever the brand claims. Open-plan floors, uninsulated garages and unfinished basements need more heat than one plug-in unit delivers. RapidHeat is for heating the room you are in, not the whole house.

Is it safe to leave on overnight?

Yes, when used as directed: plugged directly into a wall outlet, clear space around it, and on a hard surface. The overheat protection and tip-over cut-off shut it down automatically if anything is wrong, and the timer can switch it off after you fall asleep.

Three independent ones: a tip-over switch that cuts power instantly if the unit is knocked over, an overheat sensor that shuts it down before anything gets dangerous, and a ceramic PTC element that self-limits its own temperature by design.
