What it does well

• Warms a small room fast — three to five minutes to noticeably warm air
• Genuinely quiet at under 30 dB, which most rivals at this price are not
• The thermostat and timer combination is the reason it is cheap to run
• Remote plus touch panel, no fiddling on the floor
• Safety is properly covered: tip-over, overheat and a cool-touch body
• No installation of any kind

Where it falls short

• It will not heat an open-plan living area or a whole floor
• It is not suitable for an uninsulated garage or a large workshop
• It moves air, so there is a faint fan sound — silent-only buyers should look at oil-filled

What we liked

• Genuinely fast: warm air at the grille within about a minute, a noticeably warmer 12 m² room in three to five
• The thermostat holds a temperature rather than blasting — the element audibly cycles off and on
• Quiet enough to sleep beside and to take calls next to
• The remote sounds like a gimmick until you use it from bed or a desk
• Cool-touch housing, with tip-over and overheat cut-outs that work when tested

What we did not like

• It is a 12 m² heater. In an open-plan room it runs constantly and never wins
• No Wi-Fi or app control, which some buyers now expect
• The display is bright in a dark bedroom until you dim the panel
• Like every 1,500 W heater it must go straight into a wall outlet, which limits where you can place it

Running cost in practice

Over a month of real use in a home office — roughly four hours a day with the thermostat set at 21°C — the unit averaged about 0.75 kWh per hour of operation, which is what you would expect from a 1,500 W element cycling at around half duty.
